Internal medicine is one of the most important fields of clinical medicine, not only due to its key role in prevention and diagnosis, but also because of its interconnectedness with other medical specialties. It does not focus solely on individual organs, but rather on the body as a whole, examining it in relation to its context. For this reason, it often works closely with other fields of medicine – cardiology, gastroenterology, immunology, endocrinology and diabetology, hematology, pulmonology, etc.
An internal examination is approached as part of prevention and diagnosis, during the treatment of chronic diseases, and during pre-operative preparation, or even before entering a spa. It is most commonly attended by patients with cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure or coronary artery disease, metabolic diseases - most often diabetes mellitus, etc. However, you should also undergo it in case you are troubled by long-lasting nonspecific health issues, as it can help identify their cause, which can then often be effectively treated with a suitably chosen targeted therapy.
At Innova Healthcare, we recognize the importance of the internal examination, which is why we have included it in our Comprehensive Preventive Care Programme as a fundamental building block of comprehensive preventive check-ups. These are designed to provide the maximum amount of information about your current health status in the minimum necessary time.
As part of the comprehensive preventive check-up, the internist will perform a complete internal examination based on a detailed medical history, physical examination including EKG and laboratory tests. The output from the check-up is a summary medical report with results and recommendations. In the case of clinical findings, we would be happy to take care of you as part of Follow-up Comprehensive Care.
